Thames Valley Restorative Justice Service (TVRJS) works with statutory and voluntary partner agencies at the forefront of research, development and delivery of adult restorative practices in England and Wales. It introduces restorative practices as a practical and value-for-money intervention for reducing harm in a wide range of situations, including within the criminal justice service, educational, community and workplace settings.
TVRJS is part of a registered charity, The Thames Valley Partnership, having been originally introduced as part of the then Thames Valley Probation service in 2000 as a pioneering multi-agency collaboration.
As a recipient of the Howard League’s prestigious Community Sentence Award (2010) and one of the first to be awarded the national Restorative Service Quality Mark in 2014, TVRJS is an internationally recognised centre of excellence.
As a training organisation accredited through the Restorative Justice Council, Thames Valley Restorative Justice Service (TVRJS) offers training and consultancy opportunities to external bodies and agencies. The service offered in any context is bespoke and tailor-made. The exact specifications of our work will be determined by an organisation’s or individual’s visions, goals and requirements and will reflect the characteristics of the specific area or setting. For sustainable restorative practices local ownership is essential and our partnership approach considers how we can work together to fulfil our brief.
TVRJS facilitators demonstrate a wealth of knowledge and experience second to none in delivering restorative practice in a wide variety of settings. The service is internationally-recognised for its high quality delivery and this is based in part on the caliber of people we work with and the investment we all make in developing their skills.
